I love eWomenNetwork because it is a network where I can get what I need. Case in point, the 2010 conference and the reason I come back every year. Now 2010 wasn’t as glamorous as 2007 . . .it wasn’t as large as 2008 . . .and they still didn’t have protein at breakfast, but who cares. That is not why I go.

I go to learn new things, meet new people, be inspired and move my business forward.… Read More

I go to learn new things, meet new people, be inspired and move my business forward. This is exactly what eWomenNetwork does for me and what you should always rate a conference.

Looking back on the four years at the national conference for me:

2007: A place for solace, relaxation and escape
Two weeks before the national conference in 2007, I decided to close my previous business . . .it was time. I didn’t like the business I was in and it wasn’t doing well. How heartbreaking and freeing at the same time. I left for the conference and got a terrible cold that continued through the conference. I spent as much time in my room as I did at the conference but was inspired and happy for the distraction.

2008: A place to explore the response to my new business venture
As I arrived in 2008, my new buisiness was flourishing and it was time to test the interest of women business owners across the U.S. It was a success. My business grew, I made deeper connections with the women from my Reno, NV chapter, I met women from all over the U.S. and made an effort to meet some of the speakers. I participated in every event (unlike 2007) . . The Gala, Nordstrom, Chocolate Decadence and more. I stayed longer and had so much fun!

2009: Moving to the higher level and meeting people a step ahead
I decided to step it up in 2009 and go for the Ultimate VIP Package. This was the year to meet people a step (or a few steps) ahead of me in the business world. I made the most of this years event, setting intentions before each event and talking with everyone from speakers to board members to the doorman. The result was again, a wonderfully engaging event full of memorable experiences and contacts that could fit into my future as a women entrepreneur. . .I signed up for the VIP Package again.

2010: Business information
How amazing and different 2010 was for me. I needed information on acquiring government contracts and there was a breakout session just for that! I learned about maximizing workshop revenue. I watched, in the SEO sessions, as amazing speakers solidified my knowledge – confirming that I do in fact know what I am doing. I met some amazing business owners and speakers AND I continued to form relationships from years prior.

I also got to hear Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com and #1 New York Times best selling author for his new book “Delivering Happiness”, speak and met him briefly. What is so exciting about that is the fact that I have studied Zappos.com philosophy in customer service and often point businesses in that same direction. I had no idea he would be a speaker and was just inspired.

I like change and although many of the events had not changed in concept the overall attendance was smaller. The result . . .the women business members who “showed up for their business” were those amazing women more dedicated to their business. Sometimes it isn’t the quantity but the quality! Yes, I noticed that cuts were made based on attendance but I don’t go there for the perks. I go there for the information, the knowledge, the growth personally and professionally and for the expansion opportunities over the next year. Guess what? Again, eWomenNetwork delivered.
