I love eWomenNetwork because it is a network where I can get what I need. Case in point, the 2010 conference and the reason I come back every year. Now 2010 wasn’t as glamorous as 2007 . . .it wasn’t as large as 2008 . . .and they still didn’t have protein at breakfast, but who cares. That is not why I go.

I go to learn new things, meet new people, be inspired and move my business forward.… Read More

I go to learn new things, meet new people, be inspired and move my business forward. This is exactly what eWomenNetwork does for me and what you should always rate a conference.

Looking back on the four years at the national conference for me:

2007: A place for solace, relaxation and escape
Two weeks before the national conference in 2007, I decided to close my previous business . . .it was time. I didn’t like the business I was in and it wasn’t doing well. How heartbreaking and freeing at the same time. I left for the conference and got a terrible cold that continued through the conference. I spent as much time in my room as I did at the conference but was inspired and happy for the distraction.

2008: A place to explore the response to my new business venture
As I arrived in 2008, my new buisiness was flourishing and it was time to test the interest of women business owners across the U.S. It was a success. My business grew, I made deeper connections with the women from my Reno, NV chapter, I met women from all over the U.S. and made an effort to meet some of the speakers. I participated in every event (unlike 2007) . . The Gala, Nordstrom, Chocolate Decadence and more. I stayed longer and had so much fun!

2009: Moving to the higher level and meeting people a step ahead
I decided to step it up in 2009 and go for the Ultimate VIP Package. This was the year to meet people a step (or a few steps) ahead of me in the business world. I made the most of this years event, setting intentions before each event and talking with everyone from speakers to board members to the doorman. The result was again, a wonderfully engaging event full of memorable experiences and contacts that could fit into my future as a women entrepreneur. . .I signed up for the VIP Package again.

2010: Business information
How amazing and different 2010 was for me. I needed information on acquiring government contracts and there was a breakout session just for that! I learned about maximizing workshop revenue. I watched, in the SEO sessions, as amazing speakers solidified my knowledge – confirming that I do in fact know what I am doing. I met some amazing business owners and speakers AND I continued to form relationships from years prior.

I also got to hear Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com and #1 New York Times best selling author for his new book “Delivering Happiness”, speak and met him briefly. What is so exciting about that is the fact that I have studied Zappos.com philosophy in customer service and often point businesses in that same direction. I had no idea he would be a speaker and was just inspired.

I like change and although many of the events had not changed in concept the overall attendance was smaller. The result . . .the women business members who “showed up for their business” were those amazing women more dedicated to their business. Sometimes it isn’t the quantity but the quality! Yes, I noticed that cuts were made based on attendance but I don’t go there for the perks. I go there for the information, the knowledge, the growth personally and professionally and for the expansion opportunities over the next year. Guess what? Again, eWomenNetwork delivered.

A web photo is optimized at 72dpi (low resolution file) and print quality is typically 300dpi (high resolution file. If you print a low resolution file it will be fuzzy. If you add a high resolution file to your web site or on the web, it will take a long time to load on a page for your viewers and may not load for dial up.

.JPG (called a jpeg)

A .JPG is a compressed image file. It can be compressed for high (for print), medium (for web) or low (for email). This is one of the types of files you can upload to your web site, blogs and social media.

.GIF

A .GIF is always low resolution and can be supported by almost all browsers. A .GIF can also be created with a transparent background.

.PDF

A .PDF can be opened and read with the free software Adobe Reader and is the best way to make a portable document to add to the web site, as a e-book or to email to someone. A .PDF file can also be sent to a professional printer.

.TIF

The .TIF format is the most widely used for all graphic, photos and printing. It is the most reliable format to ensure high quality and you will see it often with professional photographers.

.EPS

An .EPS File is vector art and is the easiest file for a designer to transfer an image or logo. These files are scalable and a prefered file for printers, silk screeners and designers.

.PSD: Photoshop File

A .PSD file can only be opened by Photoshop, image editing software. It has all the layers and often make it possible for a designer to make changes to your photo.

.AI Adobe Illustrator

Another file that is acceptable for commercial print and other printing professionals, .AI files can only be opened with Adobe Illustrator and can have layers.

Make sure you ask your logo designer for a variety of formats when he/she creates your marketing products.
