About Corner Your Market

Corner Your Market was born out of a print advertising business.  With the rise of online listings and maps, founder Alison Elliott saw the need for all of her clients to be online.  At the time, many businesses didn’t have a web site.  “Sometimes it took a lot of time to convince a client that he/she needed a web site, which today sounds almost comical.” says Alison.

As Corner Your Market moved into web design and web SEO for their clients, it became more rewarding and, in 2006, the print advertising business was closed and they moved full time into web design and SEO.

Since then with mobile sites and apps, social media, review sites such as Yelp, article marketing and the shear growth of the Internet, Corner Your Market has become a boutique web traffic company focusing on building a steady flow of buyers to their clients by helping them engage customers online, participate in social media and focus on niche keywords that will increase their status online.

Why has Corner Your Market been around for over five years now?  You can probably attribute that to the Founder’s ability to embrace change and new technology.  When asked that question, Alison said “the Internet is so much fun – constantly changing, constantly challenging and constantly rewarding.”

About The Founder

Idea Person, Constantly Learning, Passionate Marketer.

Alison Elliott has been interviewed on the eWomenNetwork national ABC radio show, has appeared on CNBC’s “The Big Idea” and was a featured writer in the international magazine, The Glow Project.  She is the founder of Corner Your Market LLC, a company that focuses on helping businesses to engage online customers and find a steady flow of buyers to their site. Many people have described her talents as Organizer meets Marketer.

She has been involved in the Internet and web-based marketing and sales for over fourteen years after earning a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Music Performance from Mills College. It is this perfect blend of the artistic with the practical that makes her uniquely qualified for such a creative industry. Her first job out of college was a four-year stint with an Internet marketing company that helped utilities market themselves online. She was hired into the Finance Department but was quickly moved to Sales when her obvious talents became apparent. During that time she experienced finding first, second and third rounds of funding and going public, with all that it entails.  She considers this first job the stage for her entire business career.

She moved on to manage territories, in Outside Sales, for 18 companies involved in the construction industry. During that time, she also completed several web design and web application courses at UNLV and worked on her MBA.  Being a woman among mostly men, this job was essential for grasping the inner workings of different industries and styles of management as well as social interactions in business.  “I had a lot of fun working in this industry.  It was a lot of lunches, dinners and in-person relationship building – totally different from my Internet experience before”.

Alison left her job to start a family.  As the mother of two young children, she decided to open a business that would allow her more time and flexibility with her family.  She opened a print media business, which included an online component and established close relationships with many of her customers. Soon, she became the go to expert for online branding, web marketing advice, web site design, Internet assistance and other marketing and advertising ideas for her clients.

Over time, Alison cultivated her growing knowledge in this arena and decided to share her knowledge base with others. She has a true love of the Internet and stays up to date on the latest online tools to help businesses grow.

Alison loves to teach and gives tons of free advice on Blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social outlets online.  She is also creating an online SEO training program for mom bloggers, an area she feels passionate about, “I am a mom and I know the deep desire to make enough money to stay at home and raise my kids.  Blogging can do that for moms and I want to help them be successful!”
